A new Dental Center will be named in memory of Dr. Alan K. DerKazarian who graduated from the Tufts University School of Dental Medicine Class of 1957 and, after two years as a dentist in the Air Force, completed his periodontics study at Boston University’s Goldman School of Dental Medicine. He taught in the Department of Periodontics at the BU School of Dentistry for over 20 years and established a practice limited to periodontics in Cambridge in 1963. During his career, he served as President and Treasurer of the Armenian-American Dental Association, President of the Massachusetts Dental Society, and Chair the Massachusetts Dental Society Foundation.
Hand in Hand’s new dental center will include training facilities to provide professional development for dental professionals continuing Dr. DerKazarian’s legacy.
